I was born and raised in Texas. When it came time for university I figured Australia would be pretty cool. I was there from 2005 until 2012 when I got married and my wife and I decided to work overseas. We’ve been working in Nepal, Bangladesh, India and Indonesia and it’s been good times. I’d like to think I’m pretty well travelled, but whats more accurate is that I’m comfortably travelled; this year will mark 25 countries visited. Eventually we’ll make our way back to Australia.
I’m happy to talk about myself if it’s not to sell myself, like in an interview, you know? It’s an odd dynamic I’m still getting used to, but otherwise I love getting to know people (including you) and hey, if that eventuates into you and I creating some business together, well then that’s epic times isn’t it!
If your keen on chatting about any business propositions head over to the contact page and you’ll figure the rest out.
Bachelors of Business Management from Avondale College
Masters of Business Administration from Newcastle University
Worked in marketing for just over 3 years in Sydney & Central Coast within the education industry. I’m growing in knowledge and experience in publication design, for both print and online, photographic skills, both on location and in studio, and video-graphic skills which are slowly on the rise. All media related skills have been self-taught; no formal education. My work has been published in newspapers, a magazine and two books so far. We’ll see about changing that though.
I’d like to think I’ve got some business prowess and I love new ideas, emerging markets, the study of economics, and innovation. If you’ve got some small business ideas I’ll always love to chat about that indeed!
I’m quite self-motivated, but I suppose everyone would say that to some extent. My motivation for hard work isn’t overly incentivised by money, rather to offer a good product and satisfy the client. That’s paramount. I’m happy to be pushed and happy to learn. You got something you’d like to try within my skill-set then no doubt I will learn what I need to and will get it done. Try me!
Before one ever sets goals, I reckon you’ve gotta have your purpose sorted out. I know I should exist to provide and serve others, it’s what this fella Jesus talked about. So my purpose is centred in helping people in whatever way I can. This is super broad, I know, but it helps me take focus away from self.
That said, I’d still love to be successful, to create something from scratch that’s profitable, and offer a service that many people need or can use. I’m keen in the next few coming years to really focus on my photography and my pub-design skills. Getting my hands wet in starting up a business from concept to operating sounds pretty cool too. OH, and my wife and I have a goal of 30 countries visited before 30 years old, 40 before 40, and so on….Join us if you want!
For 2013 I’ve set these personal goals:
- Create an innovative small business plan
- Be able to do a handstand push-up
- Be able to do a set of 10 muscle-ups
- Get my photography published in a travel mag, either online or print
This changes a bit from time to time, I’ll work on keeping it as current as possible.
Right now I photograph with my employer’s:
- Canon 5D Mark II
- Canon 24-70mm f/2.8
I own some other stuff too:
